Learn The Ropes! with Danielle Ou

Learn The Ropes!
with Danielle Ou

Saturday, May 16, 2-4pm
In-Studio Only

Are you intimidated by those ropes hanging in the back of the classroom, or curious because they look like fun? Come learn the basics of the ropes: the art of Yoga Kurunta, or puppetry, developed by BKS Iyengar. Using the ropes in our yoga practice can help us explore asanas differently. We will play with movement and connection to understand our range of motion, learn how to leverage, work muscularly, gain extension through traction, and deepen flexion by using gravity in new ways. Build confidence in the ropes doing beginning level asanas, and learn to trust the ropes to support your weight.

DANIELLE OU is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher who started training at YogaWorks in 2002 and then at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles. She attended classes in Pune, India with the Iyengar family in 2005 and 2015. She continues studying with senior teachers Paul Cabanis, Anna Delury, and Marla Apt, among others, whenever possible.
