I discovered yoga in 1995 at Integral Yoga in NYC. I fell in love immediately. It was a respite from the city and my high-stress job in book publishing. In 2003, I moved to LA and completed my first teacher training at The Center for Yoga in Larchmont Village with Diana Beardsley, Paul Cabanis and Steve Walther. I've been teaching ever since. Throughout my career, I’ve studied and trained in yoga, mindfulness, and the nervous system. My classes are rooted in balancing commitment (tapas) and contentment (santosha) with self-study (svadhyaya). We explore the dynamic actions of both movement and stillness. And we work deeply to develop a refined internal observance and to respond to whatever is arising. The breath and deep listening are the foundation of the practice. My typical class might include a theme, mudras, and pranayama. With more than 5000 hours of teaching experience, I’m also an ongoing student with more than 700 hours of continuing education. Some of my most admired teachers and mentors include Diana Beardsley, Jillian Pransky, Maria Cristina Jimenez, Jeanne Heileman, Michelle C. Johnson and Christiane Wolf.
