The practice of yoga extends beyond the mat. In each of our practices, we reach the point where we want to share its gifts with our world. The Lokha Samistha Suhkino Bhavantu chant wishes all beings to be happy and free. By doing more to lessen our footprint and protect the planet we share, we embody and offer skillful and loving actions to that end. To live in harmony with the planet is to love and care for all life and its future.
In this context—the context of our world—plastic pollution is something that must be addressed. It affects all inhabitants of this planet in countless ways. Earth-friendly swaps, from waste to re-use, in our daily lives can be made in the most commonplace activities or places:

HANNA GILAN has the experience, skill and knowledge that come from 30 years of yoga practice and 20 years teaching students of all ages and abilities. Hanna has trained, assisted and practiced with some of the world’s great Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, and Bhakti teachers. She has completed four certified teacher trainings and three Thai Yoga Massage courses in Thailand. Hanna currently assists teacher training at Yoga House. A dedicated and joyful student of Ashtanga Yoga, Hanna practices the complete first and second series as taught by certified teachers of Pattabhi Jois.
