with El Larson
Saturday, January 26, 6-7:30 PM
This workshop begins with exercises to open awareness, retune and balance energy centers of the body, including sound meditations and vocal toning. These practices can be used in your daily life for self-balance, and will help prepare the layers of the body for the SoundBath that follows. Featuring ancient Himalayan singing bowls, tuning forks and percussion, during the SoundBath El plays the instruments amongst the group (sometimes placing tuning forks and bowls on the body) against a live ambient soundscape. The effects of sound can be powerful, and experiencing the vibrations in close proximity with the body can help produce deeper shifts.
El Larson is a certified sound practitioner who uses ancient Himalayan singing bowls, tuning forks, percussion and modular synthesis to create a space where people can release, recalibrate and regain deeper perspective. She embraces her dichotomies to deliver ancient healing modalities with a modern approach. Years of practicing and teaching Mysore-style Ashtanga (a hands-on, adjustment-based method) deepened her connection with the frequencies inside herself, and others. In addition to studying Himalayan Bowl Therapy with Diáne Mandle, El holds an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor certificate and multiple Reiki attunements.
