Flora is a native New Yorker and received her 200-hour teacher training certificate from Yoga to the People in New York in 2014, after studying primarily under Sam Chase and Alena Wertalik. Yoga was a natural transition from Flora’s rigorous background with New York City Ballet, and became her daily spiritual and centering practice at the age of 18. She later went on to study in more depth with Rose Erin Vaughn and participate in weekly active meditation workshops led by Suban and Shanti. Flora specializes in vinyasa as a moving meditation, one breath at a time, and is adamant about the practice going beyond the visual or even the physical. She encourages students to honor their body’s unique process of growth moment by moment, and ultimately unearth the teacher within.
