Ancient Knowledge for Modern Balance
A unique and all-encompassing path to self-knowledge, Ayurveda means “the science of life.” Ayurveda uses the fundamental principles of nature to help promote and maintain your health by keeping the body, mind and spirit in a state of balance.

In Tune with the Elements: Your Prakriti
Ayurveda is based on the premise that the universe is made up of five elements: air, fire, water, earth and ether. In the human body, these five elements are represented by the three doshas or “energies”: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Ayurvedic Types

Our health and wellbeing depend on maintaining the right balance of the three doshas, and every individual has their own distinct, ideal equilibrium. When any one of the doshas accumulates in the body beyond a desirable limit, the body loses its balance “Vikriti” and becomes vulnerable to disease. When this happens, Ayurveda prescribes specific lifestyle and nutritional guidelines and treatments to help reduce the excess dosha, thereby restoring balance.

These guidelines and treatments can include:

  • Diet modifications
  • Lifestyle and Activity adjustment
  • Herbal Supplements
  • Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation
  • Abhyanga (oil treatments) and Marma (energy point) therapy

An Ayurvedic Consultation: Discover Your Dosha You can learn about your own dosha, uncover any imbalances you may have and learn how to correct them by scheduling an Ayurvedic consultation at Yoga House. Offered by Yoga House Co-Founder and Co-Owner Farzaneh Noori, each assessment includes:

  • An analysis of your individual doshic constitution. Your prakriti.
  • A set of personalized dietary practices specifically designed to correct digestive issues and increase life force energy
  • Lifestyle recommendations for optimum health
  • Suggestions for maximizing the benefits of your yoga practice by aligning it with your prakriti.

You’ll leave your consultation with a complete set of guidelines to support you in the cultivation of a more healthful, mindful way of living. Follow-up visits are available to help you assess your progress.

Yoga House Ayurveda also offers traditional oil treatments for chronic musculoskeletal pain as well as Marma or energy point therapy to balance the flow of energy. These therapies are recommended as needed during your assessment session and performed by Dela Fuente.
