about yoga house
Although it may be hard to imagine now that yoga has become so tightly woven into the fabric of American life, there was a time not so long ago when there was no full-time, dedicated Hatha Yoga studio in Pasadena. We opened Yoga House in 1997 when we were just two very enthusiastic, amateur yoga students, excited and eager to fill that void by creating such a place, a place where we could gather the best teachers we could find in a beautiful, well-equipped space so that everyone in our community could conveniently practice yoga and enjoy its benefits.

Although we've grown over the years from the tiny storefront in which we began to become one of the largest and most established yoga studios in the L.A. area (and have since become teachers as well), we believe Yoga House has remained faithful to our original vision, a vision that was influenced by our initial perspective as students.

You'll see it reflected in something as simple as the flowers that always greet you in our roomy, comfortable lobby, in the warm hospitality at our front desk and in the relaxed, supportive learning environment at Yoga House where everyone, no matter what their level of physical conditioning or experience, is welcome and valued. You’ll see it in the extremely wide range of styles and levels of yoga we offer – from gentle to advanced – with everything from therapeutic yoga for people with Multiple Sclerosis to the sweat-drenching practice of Ashtanga. It’s also evident in the skillful instruction, friendliness and deep dedication of our handpicked teachers and in our special workshop program, which brings some of the most renowned yogis from around the world to our students in Pasadena each year.

Ultimately, Yoga House is an expression of the community in which it has grown, the sum total of the aspirations of literally thousands of students, each with their own point of departure and their own destination. It is the recognition and celebration of this diversity that has always informed and continues to inform everything we do at Yoga House. No matter what it is you seek from yoga, we’re confident that you will find it here.
